Crisis is often associated with a sudden, external shock. Some of us feel out of control, some of us want to take more control. In this moment of crisis – unexpected and abrupt – people react differently, even unpredictably, relative to non-crisis time. Leaders need to learn how to regulate the instinctive fight/flight reasoning that emerges during these short and powerful events.
